Same old same old

Well then. Maria and Leila left for Finland yesterday. They'll be back .... the 7th, I think. Until then it's me and Kaija and Mark. After that it's three days until my trip and I am.. actually not excited because I haven't internalized that it is actually so close. Don't worry, a full blown panic will come. If not now, then by the time I'm sitting on the airplane and can no longer deny that it is happening. But yeah.

I have a very good topic to talk about next week, but that is for next week and I don't know what to talk about now. Uh. I managed to get my drawing tablet working. That's good. Drew a tiny Cas with wings. It turned out ok, but I am very much out of practice and I have no idea what to draw, so I want everyone to comment and tell me one thing I should draw. Like, anything. There is also this palette meme going around in tumblr and that seems fun, so if you feel like it, you can also choose a color scheme. I'll put that in the end.

Went to the movies last weekend. X-Men and Maleficent. They were good. Although I am a bit confused about the end of X-Men and I am sorta disappointed (although not surprised) that the guy playing human!Diaval was not black. Because I think he should've been. I mean he's a raven, they are black. But the guy who played him did kinda looked like a raven, with the nose and the chin, so I guess it's... ok.

What else, uh. Speaking of movies, they're apparently making on from Looking for Alaska. I should probably finish that book before it comes out. And it's kinda sad that it's not a given that I will finish it.

I really don't have anything interesting to say, I'm sorry.

I'll probably have the house to myself Sat-Sun night, because Mark and Kaija are going up to Canada, but I really don't feel like going with. Might do an allnighter, because screw sleep. Probably gonna draw for the whole weekend, and maybe watch some movies in the background. That's gonna be fun.

I've been thinking a lot about my dragon riders lately, but I don't really have anything new and exciting to tell about them. I've just been trying to flesh out some of the characters. Also random scenarios that will probably not end up in the final story, but I don't care it's fun to play around. I should probably start working on the dragons soon too, I have the most important human characters mostly thought out. Except I'm still kinda hazy about the King's motives. I just... I don't know. He needs some kind of motivation why he'd plunge all of the world into war. I need a brainstorm buddy, I think better out loud.

But hey, dragons! Oh, maybe they were hunted to near extinction, and that's why there's so few. After they were nearly wiped out, the King (perhaps not the same king, but like a previous one) was like, "hey hey, we can use them" and collected all the remaining dragons and their eggs and started training them and declared that all dragons are a property of the crow or whatever, that explains the fewness and the fact that they're all very similar in build and size, with a much smaller gene pool than everywhere else. Because in the land to the west the dragons are much more diverse in shape and size and ability. Does that make sense? And then one of the eggs was stolen! And it changed hands many time, with the king's guards trying to track it down. Until it ended in Lendá and Pin bought it on a whim from the traveling salesman. Then the guards caught up after it hatched and they took her to the king and the king was like "damn, it has attached to you" or something and she joined the dragon riders in hope of finding some adventure. Although I don't know if dragons attach to people, because they can have different riders.... Do reptiles have that same kind of imprint thing like birds do? Because maybe the dragon kinda considers Pin a mother type of thing, and that's why the king insisted she join. And like, the dragon (who I really should name) is willing to let others ride, but only because Pin asks and most certainly prefers Pin. Yeah, makes sense.

Maybe I'll skype someone this weekend and talk dragons. I'm very excited about dragons.
