Tony honks the horn as I round the corner. Several heads turn to look at him and then me, when Tony just grins and waves at me, and I bury my face in my scarf in embarrassment. I punch him in the arm once I've shuffled into the car.
"Why are you so obnoxious all the time?" I hiss as he starts the car.
"Why do you care so much if a few people stare?" he counters, like always. I frown and stare out the window for the whole way home. Tony drops me off in front of the house and leaves again, saying something about a Halo-night at Mike's. Well, I guess I won't be seeing him until tomorrow afternoon.
Mom's watching something from the TV when I walk in, so I don't bother her, instead making a few sandwiches and retreating into my room. As an after thought I drop by Tony's room and grab the bunny, Conan (the Destroyer), from his cage, bringing him along.
He sits on my desk, munching on some lettuce as I try to work out my math homework. It's nothing I couldn't handle, but I can't seem to focus on the assignment, staring out the window instead. I pet Conan idly, and he snuffles and eats and sniffles and generally is cute. The math is abandoned at some point and I end up laying on my bed with the bunny shuffling on my chest, until eventually mom calls me to have dinner.
All the while the snow keeps falling, and it keeps on falling for the rest of the evening and it doesn't look like it's letting up anytime soon as I climb into bed and curl under the warm duvet.

It's choir practice. We're singing songs, but they're not Christmas songs. They're not even in any language I recognize. It should probably bother me, but it really doesn't and so I keep singing. I know the lyrics. Our teacher is missing today, but we have a substitute, a young man wearing a fitted vest and a charming smile. His sleeves are rolled up and I think I see tattoos peeking under it, but then they're not there anymore when I try to look.
The song ends and he claps his beautiful hands and I feel oddly proud. He starts to pass out sheets for our next song but as I get mine I notice it doesn't have any notes, just a few verses, over and over, in a language that could be Latin but I don't know if it is. I look up to the teacher in confusion.
The door slams open with a loud bang and everyone turns to look; there is a large man there, and he charges towards us. He has a gun in his hand. I can feel my heart beating rapidly in my chest, every nerve in my body telling me to RUN, but I can't move. My whole body has gone stiff. All around me the other students fall to the ground with a clatter, like whatever string were holding them up were suddenly snapped and I absently wonder if they'd always been mannequins. The man is struggling with the teacher, both trying to get hold of the gun but the teacher is losing. He is losing and soon the man has him on his knees and he looks me straight at me, desperation in his grey eyes and whispers.
"Carol."
There is a loud noise and I gasp, hand covering my mouth as the teacher falls limp on the reddened floor. The gun is pointing at me now, but I keep looking at the teacher's face, the blood gushing from the gaping hole in his head and I could swear to god he's smiling.
I hear the gun cock and...

I wake with a jolt as mom pounds on my door.
"If you want a ride to the city, it's time to get up," she calls out cheerfully. I scrub a hand over my damp face and check the time before huffing and sitting up on the bed. I can remember a pair of silver grey eyes looking at me and I shudder, forcing the dream down as I get up and trudge to the shower.
